The Vice President, Payer Relations and Contracting position is an opportunity for an innovative executive to join a nationally recognized, progressive health care system to provide financial strategic leadership to drive performance objectives, support growth initiatives, and financially strengthen the system. Reporting to the Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, the Vice President, Payer Relations and Contracting will provide the strategic direction and leadership of system-wide managed care contracting and revenue recovery for Allina Health’s acute care facilities, employed medical group, outpatient services, post-acute and specialty medical services and centers, and clinically integrated network, Allina Integrated Medical Network. As a system role, the Vice President, Payer Relations and Contracting will work with leaders across the enterprise to establish, implement, enhance, advocate and educate the managed care strategy to grow accretive market share and to increase the value of Allina Health’s services.
Ideal candidates will have demonstrated success serving within a comparable role with a regional or national healthcare organization. Proven experience and expertise in the development and execution of managed care pricing strategies, contract negotiations and relation building with payers. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, a strong track record of career performance within a multi-institutional and multi-market environment, and an ability to lead change in a highly matrixed healthcare environment are essential. Experience in risk-based contracting and a master’s degree are strongly preferred.
