The California Armenian Home has an excellent and challenging career opportunity for the right candidate. This not-for-profit organization is searching for a President and CEO for the Home and the Vineyards. The Vineyards is the newest addition to the California Armenian Home and sits on the existing 40-acre campus in Fresno, California. It is a new, one-of-a-kind hospitality-inspired community that offers independent living, assisted living and memory care with an abundance of activities, dining options and many dedicated staff members to meet the ever-changing needs of our residents.
The California Armenian Home is searching for someone who would like to be a part of our legacy of providing quality care in a luxurious and home-like setting. This dedicated professional will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Vineyards and the Home with the Executive Director of the Vineyards, the Administrator for the Home and the Controller reporting directly to him or her. This person will report to and work very closely with the Board Chair, becoming involved in all aspects of running the organization.
Qualified candidates must possess a minimum of five years of upper management experience in elder care, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and preferably, a master’s degree. This person should be SNF or RCFE licensed in California or be licensable by possessing a license in another state. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must, along with the ability to present to, motivate, and inspire staff members. Financial acumen is required, as this individual must be able to build and manage a budget and read and understand all financial documents/statements.
Strong management and leadership skills are essential. The ability to encourage and work collaboratively with a team, while still being able to make good decisions and provide direction is critical. To be successful in this position, the right candidate will be able to foster good relationships with the residents, family members, vendors, staff members, and the Board of Directors.

The California Armenian Home is a not-for-profit corporation established in 1952 by the local Armenian community, which generously donated 40-acres of land in Fresno, California’s southeast countryside, the building, and the funds to furnish a continuing care retirement community. Today, 65 years later, the renowned California Armenian Home provides both short and long-term 24-hour skilled nursing and rehabilitation residency, independent living, assisted living and memory care and takes most insurance programs. The 5-star California Armenian Home and The Vineyards welcomes adults 60+ of any national origin and includes dedicated and caring professional staff and volunteers. The California Armenian Home currently has 150 residents and the Vineyards currently has 50 residents, and is projected to have 150 residents in the next six to twelve months. Upon a full census, the Home and the Vineyards will have an annual budget in excess of $20 million and more than 200 staff members.
