We are a 46-bed Home in urgent need of Director of Staff Development, capable of transmitting our values and our mission to our new hires and to our dedicated staff.
As the Director of Staff Development (DSD) you will be responsible for:
Directing and coordinating all in-service educational programs of our Home in accordance with the current Federal, State, and Local Regulations, as well as develop and direct orientation programs for skilled nursing personnel.
Providing an example of competent and compassionate leadership.
Remaining current on new developments as well as developing, maintaining and securing the staff development records, reports, instructional manuals and reference materials pertinent to in-service programs.
Meeting either of two regulatory criteria for a DSD:
RN or LVN one-year experience in providing direct care; and one-year planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs in nursing; or:
Two years’ experience as an RN or LVN, one year of which is providing direct care, and must complete a 24-hour DSD course in the first six months of employment.
If you are interested in working more hours we are also in need of an RN or LVN charge nurse. We are also open to job sharing or contracting for this position.
