The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS), New Orleans LA, is seeking an experienced Board-Certified/Eligible Radiologist with additional Fellowship Training and Board Certification/Eligibility and/or Certificate of Additional Qualifications in Interventional Radiology (IR), for position of Section Chief of Interventional Radiology (SC-IR), to provide overall management and supervision of the IR Section and leadership for two other assigned IR Physicians. The selected candidate will practice within the full scope of care for Interventional Radiology in both outpatient and inpatient care, and should expect to assist with General Radiology practice, IR workload allowing, including interpreting general diagnostic radiology; diagnostic computed tomography and diagnostic ultrasound, MRI exams. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the downtown New Orleans VAMC was devastated, resulting in standing up a completely new state-of-art Veterans Affairs Medical Center to meet the needs of our Veterans and the full array of VA missions: education, research, national emergency preparedness and assistance. The SLVHCS is academic affiliated with the Schools of Medicine at Tulane University (TU) and Louisiana State University (LSU). The SC-IR may be considered for Academic Appointment based on interests and qualifications, and should expect to participate in the teaching, training and mentoring of dedicated Interventional Radiology Fellows, Radiology Residents and Medical Students. Work Schedule: Mondays – Fridays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Compressed work schedule may be considered.
