Responsible for providing care in an atmosphere sensitive to each person's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, with respect for the beliefs and values of co-workers, patients and their families. Functions in the spirit of teamwork and is accountable for the delivery of care utilizing those skills learned in both the clinical and didactic arena. Participates with the Obstetrical Surgery Team in an individualized patient care plan based on assessed needs, standard of care, instrumentation/supplies, and physician preferences to provide surgical assistance during obstetrical cases. Provides applicable licensed practical nursing care for patients in the Birthplace – Labor & Delivery and NICU as required.
Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS and unit specific Service Standards.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current license to practice in the state of PA or eligible for licensure in PA required.
• 1 year of LPN experience required.
• Basic Life Support required.
• Neonatal resuscitation certification required within the first six months of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Strong interpersonal, effective listening, and needs anticipation skills preferred.
• Adequate skills in handling instruments/equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and supplies preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Extensive periods of standing and walking are involved.
