Bristol Health is in a highly competitive market with three large teaching tertiary care centers and one other community hospital, all within 20 miles. The Bristol Hospital Medical Group is a network of community-based practices staffed by some of the region’s most skilled physicians, nurses and specialists. The division of urology has been identified as a strategic priority for the organization. Bristol Health seeks an accomplished urologist to join the organization as Chief of Urology. This is an exceptional opportunity for a caring and committed physician leader who embraces patient-centered, team-based care and is entrepreneurial in spirit. Reporting to the Chair of Surgical Services and the Executive Director of Bristol Health Medical Group, the Chief of Urology will serve as a liaison between administration and medical staff. The Chief of Urology will provide visionary, clinical, strategic, and operational leadership for Urology services at Bristol Health. He/She will be responsible for recruitment and training new physicians and advanced practice providers, oversee staff’s utilization of hospital clinical services and participate in initiatives to improve clinical quality, safety, financial results and the patient experience. Furthermore, the Chief of Urology will also work to create synergy with the University of Connecticut; Bristol Health has a clinical affiliation with the University of Connecticut for Urology services. The chosen physician leader will possess the following: - Minimum of three years of postgraduate clinical experience within Urology.
- A high level of credibility among peers for clinical excellence in Urology.
- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school; Board Certification in Urology is required.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in the state of Connecticut.
