The role of the training center CNA/HHA instructor requires individuals who have a high level of both clinical and technical competence and a willingness to assume responsibility and accountability or autonomous practices. Qualities and characteristics that address these role expectations include; advanced assessment skills, effective communication skills, sound judgment, flexibility and creative problem solving techniques, ability to adapt to diversity and change, and self direction and motivation. Awareness of personal care attendant, certified nurse aide and home health aide rules and regulations are required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The clinical instructor will train PCA, CNA, Medication Aide, and HHA students.
Promote Spectrum Medical Inc and the training program as evidenced by developing contacts with potential clientele.
Coordinate the state approved sixteen hours of clinical care within the community.
Demonstrate an understanding of sound financial practices by managing resources including revenue and expenses.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with training standards of the programs as established in dphhs.mt.gov/CNA
Responsible for completion of the student file. File includes but may not be limited to; Competency checklist for each client as directed by Federal and State Regulation, Test scores, Attendance Roster, Initial Application and Consent, Method of Payment, Copy of authorized certificate of completion, and Entering the candidate into the State system for testing
Responsible for promoting both internal and external customer service in addition to, exhibiting an attitude that is conducive and becoming of a licensed professional nurse.
Adheres to all Agency, payroll, billing and documentation policies and procedures.
Participates in Agency's other mandated activities, as requested by Coordinator of Private Duty including in-services and QAPI and annual mandatory education
Addresses and supports cultural practices, such practices do not harm others or interfere with the planned course of medical therapy.
Maintains current knowledge of community resources. Identifies and assesses appropriate external and internal resources to meet patient and/or family needs and to facilitate optimal patient outcomes while home care services are being procedures, and for transfer and discharge processes.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations.
Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.
Adheres to dress code.
Completes annual educational requirements.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Wears identification while on duty.
Maintains confidentiality at all times.
Attends department staff meetings as required within the department.
Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work in designated time.
Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Coordinates efforts in meeting regulatory compliance, federal, state and local regulations and standards

Complies with Benefis Health System Organization Policies and Procedures.
Complies with Health and Safety Standards and Guidelines.
Current Registered Nurse licensure required.
Experience as an Registered Nurse commensurate with one of the following: Two years of nursing experience; or at least one year must be in the provision of long term care services
Must have completed a course in teaching adults or have experience in teaching or supervising aides.
Proof of Approval for Clinical Instructor by State of Montana
Valid state driver's license and reliable automobile.
