This role will support Christian Hospital, by thinking strategically, executing tactically and driving innovation.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) ensures high quality, patient-centered care by leading clinical and quality initiatives that support the provision of consistent clinical performance and practice standards across the hospital. The CMO provides senior-level leadership to the infection control, risk management, safety, and medical staff credentialing functions, ensuring the collaboration and coordination of all stakeholders in these processes. The CMO facilitates the analysis of quality performance and prioritization improvement opportunities and consults on an array of issues involving physicians. The CMO also contributes to overall hospital strategy and service line development to ensure quality management and promote optimum patient experience.
Utilize data analytics, business intelligence, and predictive analytics to identify areas of opportunity and drive change.
Interacts with all members of the Executive team on a consistent basis. Not hesitant to seek problem solving relationships with all clinical leaders (ie nursing, physicians).
Desire to work with and interact with a diverse patient population by having listening sessions with the community to improve clinical services.
Will provide leadership of physician engagement and BJC system integration activities.
Create an environment of safety, cost consciousness, and continuous improvement that is data driven.
Represent medical staff viewpoints to management and relays management viewpoints to medical staff by establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships between BJC/Christian Hospital leadership, community, BJCMG and WUSM physicians.
Collaborate, network, learn and share best practices with other BJC CMOs that improves the overall physician and quality initiatives at Christian and BJC.
Serve as a resource/thought leader to the director of Business Development and President in physician recruitment, clinical program development, and overall hospital strategy.
Utilize outcome management techniques to monitor and improve care, quality, and safety. Demonstrate commitment and dedication to communicating the importance of evidence-based practices.
The ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups or individuals (orally and in writing) and to project integrity and inspire confidence.
Lead by example and motivate and inspire others to improve care consistent with the BJC values.
Has tenacity and perseverance in the face of challenges and can overcome obstacles to get things done. Approaches and deals with conflict creatively and constructively.
Serves as a spokesperson for evidence-based clinical practice, patient safety, and risk management to BJC/CH leadership and clinicians.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
Missouri State Medical Board Licensed
10+ years of experience
5+ years of supervisory experience
Prior CMO (or equivalent) experience
