The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician (Associate Chief of Staff - Primary Care). This is an open-continuous announcement and will remain open until September 30, 2022, or until the position is filled (if a selection is made and offer accepted, announcement will be closed). Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of annual paid time offer per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Major Duties and Responsibilities ~ Exercise administrative, programmatic, clinical, and academic oversight of Primary Care Service and programs to ensure delivery of quality services. ~ Serve as the principal spokesperson and advocate for Primary Care Service and programs within the VA Medical Center. ~ Coordinate and integrate clinical and administrative aspects of the programs into a comprehensive package of services to meet the needs of the Veteran population. ~ Direct patient care needs assessments; identifies gaps in services and supports program development to meet those needs. ~ Ensure compliance with all The Joint Commission functions and standards applicable to Primary Care Service programs. ~ Integrate the Primary Care Service into primary functions of the organization. ~ Oversee, develop, coordinate, and evaluate academic programs affiliated with Primary Care Service and serves as liaison with the sponsoring institutions for such programs. ~ Participate in various facility programs designed to enhance and improve the delivery of patient care services, such as Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) teams. ~ Develop and implement appropriate policies, service agreements, procedures, plans, and professional standards that guide and support Primary Care Service and programs. ~ Coordinate orientation and, in cooperation with education, promote staff development and training. ~ Expectation of clinical care by following a panel of patients or serving as float provider based on clinical mapping for appropriate level facility. ~When requested, serve as the Acting Chief of Staff during the absence of the Chief of Staff, and member of the Clinical Executive Board. ~ Other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30pm. Administrative on-call nights/weekends/holidays. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required.
