The incumbent is responsible for the daily administrative and clinical operations of the Hospitalists and reports directly to the ACOS for Medicine & Specialty Services. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining professional, technical, and administrative knowledge, competencies, and skill to deliver effective, timely and high-quality medical care to patients at Clarksburg VAMC as well as deliver patient care throughout the hospital, when required in response to medical emergencies. The Hospitalist Service Chief will supervise the other physicians and mid-level providers in the hospital as well as work as a provider in the Hospital. The incumbent is expected to actively participate in quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with rules and regulations of the agency, facility, and department.
