This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Education. Have a Master's degree in social work (MSW) from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. Please note: A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Licensure. Licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. VHA may waive the licensure requirement for persons who are otherwise qualified, pending completion of state prerequisites. English Language Proficiency. Social workers must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Regulations. Must pass a background check. Grade Requirements: GS-12 Social Worker (Program Coordinator) Experience/Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. Candidate may have certification or other post-master's degree training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/course of study and internship, or equivalent supervised professional experience. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1. Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. 2. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. 3. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. 4. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). 5. Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. Assignments. For all assignments above the full performance level, the higher-level duties must consist of significant scope, complexity (difficulty), and variety and be performed by the incumbent at least 25% of the time. Program coordinators at the GS12 grade level are administratively responsible for a clinical program providing treatment to Veterans in a major specialty area, such as but not limited to: Spinal Cord Injury, Homeless Continuum Veteran Program, Hospice and Palliative Care Program, Suicide Prevention Program, Veterans Justice Outreach, Caregiver Support Program and Community Nursing Home Program. The program coordinator may be the sole practitioner in this specialty at the facility and typically provide direct patient care services in the program area. The program coordinator oversees the daily operation of the program, develop policies and procedures for program operation, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They may be responsible for the program's budget, developing and monitoring staff compliance with practice, standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice and service delivery. The program coordinator provides analysis and evaluation of clinical program data and computerized programs to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance the quality of service. They may be responsible for, or contribute to, the program's resource and fiscal management, monitoring control points developing the annual budget, operating within that budget, and accounting for appropriated funds. The program coordinator is administratively responsible for the clinical programming and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They provide leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for assigned staff. They initiate and conduct a variety of program or service audits and complete designated clinical practice audits and reports, including productivity assessments. ["The Whole Health Licensed Clinical Social Worker position is located within the VISN 7 in Dublin, Ga. This Specialty Social Worker-Program Coordinator position is under the general supervision of the Whole Health CIH Supervisory Psychologist, and services provided are conducted via multiple modalities, including virtual and in-person care. Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) is the primary modality for treatment along with VA Video Connect (VVC) and Telephone modalities. This position may require travel to the Community Based Outreach Clinics (CBOC). Clinical Duties include:\n1) Provides comprehensive Whole Health, mental health, and psychosocial assessment and diagnostic services for Veterans with a broad range of complex conditions receiving care within the CVVAMC, including services for patients with complex psychopathology, significant physical pain, and psychosocial needs requiring advanced diagnostic and intervention skills.\n2) Demonstrated expertise in using contemporary interview and psychometric assessment methods for mental disorders and/or behavioral health conditions.\n3) Provides education to patients and family members regarding complex conditions and best practices of complementary care techniques.\n4) Provides evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions and Complimentary and Integrative Health interventions as indicated and appropriate for the specific job setting and duties, which may include individual, family, and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation.\n5) Provides consultation to health care providers about assessment findings and treatment plan for patients to ensure that care is coordinated, collaborative, and integrated within the medical center.\n6) Develops, implements, and documents the treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients as indicated.\n7) Coordinates community-based services, including information and referral for additional services from other VA programs, other government programs, and community agencies.\n8) Possess general knowledge of Veteran's benefits and services relating to special program.\n9) Independently collaborates in identifying and addressing ethical issues that impact patients and staff, including initiating and participating in ethical consultation. Maintains Veteran confidentiality. Analyzes ethical/care issues, applying appropriate theoretical principles and ensures application of institutional policy. Administrative Duties include:\n1) Assists the Team Leader and/or Service Line Leader in the design, development, and implementation of clinical assessment and/or intervention related to the HOPE program.\n2) Adheres to operational policies and procedure for the treatment team, established by the affiliated Team Leader, and/or Service Line Leader.\n3) Assists the Team Leader and/or Program Director in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical program.\n4) Facilitates liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services.\n5) Complies with national and local performance measures and facilitates organizational success on these measures at the team level.\n6) Complies with all Facility and Service Line policies and expectations concerning administrative practices, including but not limited to leave procedures, responding to suspense items, and completing TMS educational requirements.\n7) Attends and participates in administrative and informational meetings held by the Service Line Leader (or designee), Chief of Staff, and/or Facility Director.\n8) Maintains current knowledge of, and practices in accordance with, Joint Commission requirements.\n9) Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with provisions of Federal privacy acts and confidentiality statutes.
