ChristianaCare is seeking a BE/BC Pulmonologist to join our Pulmonary Specialists team in Newark, Delaware.

Job Expectations:
- Provide care in the Ambulatory Pulmonary Practice - care locations will be based on patient need and space availability. Office hours may be conducted during evenings and weekends to accommodate patient demand
- Procedures - Physician and Medical Group Leader shall determine which office-based procedures/tests will be performed in the office. Physician shall perform only those hospital procedures/tests for which Physician is privileged by ChristianaCare or, for those procedures for which there are no privileging criteria, for which Physician meets all qualifications established by the CCHS. Office patients referred for a specific physician and that procedure/test will be scheduled based upon that specific physician's availability. Other patients requiring office-based procedures/tests shall be equitably allocated or scheduled among all qualified physicians in the group. These procedures/tests shall be referred to and performed in the office practice unless the Physician and Clinical Leader jointly determine that specific procedures/tests should be performed in the hospital or laboratory setting.
- Maintain a very positive customer service orientation. Physician will recognize that patient satisfaction is extremely important to ChristianaCare and that ChristianaCare shall use surveys which it conducts, and other surveys conducted by third party payors to gauge patient satisfaction.
- Submit billing capture data or input forms for services provided by you or under your direction daily for the services provided that day; all charges will be supported by documentation in the medical record within twenty-four (24) hours of the patient visit.
- Participate in shared inpatient call between all participating, contracted or employed Pulmonologists. Hospital coverage includes Wilmington and Newark campuses. On call coverage for weekend, holidays and evenings is required.
- Adhere to ChristianaCare Medical-Dental Staff Policies, and the Department of Medicine and Section of Pulmonary Regulations
- Participate as a preceptor for medical students and residents in the office and, if applicable, inpatient settings, as assigned by the Education Coordinator and/or Section Chief of Pulmonology.
- Function under the supervision of and will report to the Vice President and Physician Executive, Medical Group or their designee. CCHS staff and hospital privileges and clinical performance will be under the responsibility of the Medical Group.
