This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.
JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS
The Resident Care Associate (RCA) & Resident Medication Assistant (RMA): • Provide personal care, companionship, nursing assistance and general daily assisted living tasks to Eskaton residents. • Able to meet new and/or stressful situations appropriately and tactfully • Work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team • Able to follow both verbal and written instructions, and communicate effectively • Duties and assignments may be adjusted at the discretion of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, or Wellness Nurse based on resident needs.
Resident Medication Assistant (RMA) only: • Administer residents’ medications as ordered by the primary physician, under the direction and supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, Wellness Nurse, or Executive Director. • Ability to implement policies and procedures in assisting with dispensing medication. • Knowledge of RCFE rules regulations.
The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, COVID test, TB screen test and health screen.

Education: RCA & RMA - High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred. Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language. RMA only - 8 hours approved medication administration training and passing grade of 85% or better on exam. Satisfactory completion of 8 hours medication administration shadowing with an approved Trainer. 4 hours of continuing education on medication administration annually.
Training and Experience: RCA - Six (6) months experience in providing personal care in a residential or long term care setting preferred. RMA – Two (2) years experience in a long term care or assisted living setting preferred. All staff that provide direct care to residents will have current first aid training and CPR certification.
