Mt. San Antonio Gardens is looking for a dedicated Sales Counselor to join our marketing team and help future residents discover all that the Gardens has to offer.
The Sales Counselor is responsible for one-to-one contact with all first-time visitors to Mt. San Antonio Gardens, including people who call or complete an online form to inquire about the Gardens community and maintaining relationships for potential residents. The counselor meets occupancy goals by following the strategies of the marketing plan. The counselor works closely with the marketing team to (1) identify key prospects and move them from inquirers to Gardens residents and (2) broaden the market base.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a key prospect list generated by the Gardens’ prospect database.
- During telephone and on-campus visits, answers questions from prospective residents and provides information regarding fees, types of living accommodations, health care programs, upcoming events and other items of interest. Determines if the Gardens is appropriate for the prospect both health-wise and financially. Communicates professionally to suggest and assist the prospect with more suitable options for their research.
- Promptly and consistently follows up on inquiries for initial tours and presentations, waiting deposits, and ultimately future sales of residences by following the Gardens nurture program.
- Records information about prospects, and conversations with them, in the prospect database. Becomes proficient in the use of the customer relations software, including generating mailing lists and reports.
- Generate correspondence as appropriate.
- Work with marketing team to move key prospects from inquirers to residents of the Gardens.
- Responsible for offering homes in coordination with the Director of Admissions and completing the home selection process through move-in.
- Attends contract signings with new residents in conjunction with the Director of Admissions.
- Works with the marketing team on projects that build awareness and generate leads to prospective residents-direct mail, telemarketing, to support promotional events, fairs and other special events.
- Assists in the setup, coordination of all marketing events, presentations, and additional community outreach events.
- Attends all marketing events.
- Coordinates the overnight host program, maintaining the host biographical spreadsheet, developing and maintaining relationships with resident group leaders, distributing copies of itinerary and biographical profile, arrange for welcome basket delivery, and collection of confidential overnight reports.
- Attends and participates in meetings of the Admissions Advisory Committee. May be responsible for writing and distributing meeting minutes.
- Works closely with Director of Marketing and Community Outreach in meeting goals of the marketing plan.
- Sends out new resident biographies and memos.
- Refers questions regarding policies and procedures for marketing or admissions to the Director of Marketing & Community Outreach.
- Performs other duties as requested by the Director of Marketing and Community Outreach.
- Completes required training as assigned.
- Practices safe working habits.

Requirements
- College degree plus two-to-three years’ experience (or equivalent) in marketing/sales. Experience in the health care industry or with seniors desirable.
- Fluent in English and excellent writing skills. Multi-lingual is a plus.
- Good computer, typing and note-taking skills, including is skilled with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and social media.
- Well organized, flexible, and able to thrive in team atmosphere.
- Maintains a well-groomed, businesslike appearance.
- Demonstrates a gracious and pleasant manner on the telephone and during personal visits; patient, with good listening skills, yet able to steer conversation appropriately.
- Flexible work schedule; frequently hosts visitors for lunch and occasionally attends early morning or evening meetings and events, including some weekends.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with staff, residents, board members and prospective residents.
- Ability to maintain patience, poise, and dignity in an emergency or crisis situation.
