The Tamalpais Marin is a Life Plan Community located in Greenbrae, California, operated by Sequoia Living, a nonprofit organization founded in 1958, which is dedicated to providing older adults from all economic backgrounds with stimulating, joyful living environments and services that enrich their lives. Sequoia Living serves more than 7,000 adults annually through its four life plan communities, three affordable housing communities, two senior centers, and community service programs. The Executive Director is an employee of Sequoia Living, which has general oversight of the Tamalpais, Marin, and all related business entities. The Executive Director is responsible for executing strategies and initiatives that consistently deliver results which are consistent with and advance the mission, core values and brand of the organization. The Executive Director’s role is pivotal in steering the community towards a sustainable future.

Job Summary:
The Executive Director will be an entrepreneurial, adaptive, and collaborative leader with a track record of developing and maintaining excellent resident and staff relations who will represent the organization both internally and externally. They will be a strong advocate for residents and staff and ensure quality operations, strong financial performance, excellent satisfaction, engagement and an exemplary culture. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of creating best places to live and work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in a CCRC environment
Significant, proven experience as an Executive Director or Associate ED in a CCRC setting
Understands and embraces the mission of Sequoia Living
California Nursing Home Administrator’s license or willingness to obtain the same is preferred.
RCFE or willingness to obtain within the first 90 days of employment
Strong strategic and financial skills that demonstrate excellent leadership, financial management, team development, strategic planning and operating acumen
§ Exceptional written and oral communication skills
§ Experience managing in a union environment highly desirable
§ Strong hospitality, customer service, and interpersonal skills; with the ability to provide appropriate leadership and oversight to the campus. Relates well in a team atmosphere with campus staff and corporate leadership
§ Ability to handle confidential information and maintain its integrity
Work Environment:
General office environment with normal lighting levels, temperature ranges, air quality, ventilation and low noise levels.
Physical Demands:
Lifts, carries, pushes or otherwise manipulates equipment and office materials weighing up to 25 lbs. Always use proper lifting and moving protocols and techniques.
Work Hazards:
Consistent with an office environment, such as slips, trips and falls.
Salary:
$240,000 - $300,000
